Now this next question is a bit of a mouthful so just bear with me. Its a multi-question...uhh question.
How does the older generation(parents age) view the younger generation(my age)? And what are your hopes/fears in how we are so much different in our views/goals/lifestyle? What do you think we value and how is that changing our society?

ooooh i like your title on this one...because that was one of the facets of our lunchtime conversation about this QOTW today...how our generation is basically a scavenger-type of people...instead of a hunter/builder-type of people. (*wishing really hard for the hologram option here!*) ahh i wish i could remember what we were saying...it was SO true...my uncle kind of illustrated it by saying that if some sort of disaster wiped out our civilization a generation or 2 ago, they would have gone straight to rebuilding and would have been well-equipped to do so...that pioneer/builder sort of strategy and mindset...but if it wiped us out, we would be really ill-equipped and unable to rebuild and we would essentially resort to selfish scavenging to cope and survive. and we would probably dwell more on "what happened to us" than getting to work making something happen. and there wouldn't be much in the way of a "community" mindset or effort. soo...there's a smattering of thoughts! :)
k - Here I am weighing in on this topic like I said I would....but I didn't ask the older generation like I was supposed to.
My question is why must we as a society view the different generations as so autonomous. Maybe that is our problem...perhaps the two generations complement one another if we strive for a greater connection with each other.
I think the older generations views us much like we view them - with vieled eyes of misunderstanding.
Perhaps then my hope is that someday we learn to mutually value each other and watch how that changes our society.
This question is based on an assumption that our generation believes in one thing exclusively. Which I don't believe is the case. I personally don't see much of a difference in the short years between our parents and grandparents and us. Our life on this earth is so short, and the minor differences between age are minute compared to the things which make us similar and the same. We are all children is God's eyes and we all act the same. Plus, just because someone is older in age does not mean much when it comes to spiritual and physical maturity.

On the other hand, bringing the viewpoint a little closer down to earth, our generation is like none before it. We have assumed an ideology of me-ism and hedonism, where the rights of one outwiegh the rights of the masses. We have turned our attention inward and have dove into the machine of consumerism that creates a hunger that only grows, every time yu try and satisfy it. Rebelion is a new fad, and the older generation is our enemy because they want to ruin our fun...
I don't see a light at the end of this tunnel, only God's intervention will bring us back on the right path.
