Explosive Happiness

This QOTW has to do with one of my previous posts.

Can we experience true joy through things that aren't God honoring? and if so, what is an example?

I actually am responding to your last QOTW...I think that women are not respected as much as they should be. They often are portrayed as sex symbols and the like...However, I also think that men are disrespected in our culture as well. For instance, one only has to watch the lastest sitcom to realize that men are portrayed as idiots who are incapable of doing anything other than sit on the couch and watch TV, who make the woman in their lives do everything they think nessecary, who look like pigs, and are out for sex at all times. I think that it is super degrading to the men of our society. So women are sex objects and men are idiots. What a great combination our media portrays. I'm sure it will get our society somewhere fast!!
I'm not completely sure how the two aspects of disrespect-women and men-are related, but they seem to be correlated in some way. Maybe I'm way off my rocker, but perhaps if both genders began to see true value in the opposite gender than change for the better could happen (??) I don't know how that would come about.
I think it is crazy how much media influences our lives. Maybe we should be starting there...although that seems like a very big feat. But we can try to teach kids how to be respectful of themselves, others, and the opposite gender, and it could be effective. But then they'll begin to see the media portray life in contrary ways than what they've been taught and it will probably effect them in some way. We hope and pray that they would be discerning, but sometimes they stumble and fall and there's no one there to help. Maybe we need more people (adults esp) who are committed to the youth of this day to help them and guide them throughout their fragile years of high school and college...
I don't know. Just my thoughts.

is it possible to expecience joy??? what is joy?? it is a feeling, feelings are strange because you are the only one who feels them, sure you can be empathetic and think you know what it is like, but really you never do. is anger the same for everyone?? i don't think so, is pain a common tongue we all speak?? does everyone know what love is, i don't know if i do. for anyone to answer this question they have to define something intangible, they have. to define this you have to conform everyone to what you feel. so i ask you this. can we know what we don't understand? and can we understand something we have no expecience with??
